Crypto exchange
A company where people buy and sell crypto, often for euros, dollars or other coins.
Most beginners start on an exchange. When you keep coins there, the exchange holds the keys, so your balance is its promise to pay you. Exchanges can freeze withdrawals, be hacked or go bankrupt, and some very large ones have collapsed.
