Funding rate
A regular payment between long and short traders on perpetual futures.
When most traders are long, longs usually pay shorts, and the other way around. The rate is charged on the full position, often every 8 hours, but it differs by platform. At high leverage, funding can eat much of your margin even if the price does not move.
