Referral link
A personal link that tells the broker who sent you, so that person can be paid.
Many 'free VIP' offers ask you to open an account through such a link and deposit money. A referral link is not a scam by itself, but it shows how the provider earns. Ask whether they are paid per client, per deposit or per lot.
