Stop order

An order to buy above or sell below the current price, once that level is reached.

A buy stop at 4,070 with gold at 4,050 opens a buy if the price rises to 4,070. Traders use it to enter when a move starts. Once triggered it becomes a market order, so it can slip like a stop-loss.
